From my perspective game one of trhe 2015 NLDS was spectacular!
It was pretty much a picture perfect dream come true. We beat the Dodgers & Clayton Kershaw in their own house. deGrom was magnificent! Murphy and Wright are the offensive stars!  Familia bails out Clippard with a 4 out save to close it! Mets win game one! Woohoo!

What a great pitching duel.

Great at bats in the first inning by Wright and Murphy set the tone as they aggressively swung at strikes and laid off anything out of the zone. One thing that impressed me is that the Mets were swinging. They weren't waiting around for something to happen. They were trying to make things happen by being aggressive but were very wise in their pitch discretion. Offensively this was impressive.

Cuddyer had some problems in the outfield but deGrom was able to get out of the jams he created.

Murphy doesn't like when
someone else does the #1 thing.
In the 4th inning Daniel Murphy crushed Kershaw's third pitch of the inning for a long home run deep into the Mets bullpen in right. I thought it was fitting that Murph should get it started.

Murphy would also make a great play at first base in the later innings.

New York would score again in the 7th and a crucial play was deGrom laying down the perfect sacrifice.

This bunt set the stage, as Granderson worked out a HUGE walk and effectively knocked Kershaw out of the box. He was done. In comes LA reliever Pedro Baez to pitch to David Wright.
Could it get any sweeter than this?

Familia bailed out Clippard & the Mets with a pretty smooth four out save.

What can you say about Jacob deGrom? He out pitched Clayton Kershaw. Together they set a record for combined strikeouts in a postseason game. 24 total Ks. deGrom also tied Tom Seaver's franchise record 13 K in a postseason game. Tom struck out 13 Reds in game one of the 1973 NLCS, and he lost!  Amazin'!

deGrom: 7 IP, 5H, 0ER,1BB,13K

Mets are up 1-0. Could they take two in L.A.? Grenke coming up. As always, I'll be happy to split...but we already got one!
