>>>>Out with the old, in with the new!

And by that I don't mean the players, although it is also fitting.

Goodbye Daniel Murphy, goodbye Jon Niese. You served us well and you will be missed. Limp over and take a seat Wilmer and Ruben. Hello Neil Walker and Asdrubal Cabrera.

What I really mean is goodbye to the 2015 Topps design and hello to the Topps 2016 design.

The Topps 2016 design: I like it and I hope to like it even better when I am viewing one in my own hands.

Even still, for the mfc counterpart versions I have made some changes. I'm old school. I like baseball cards with borders. So the mfc Mets will go with the border type.

I don't care what Topps does with other teams logos but they can't mess with the greatest logo known to man and the universe. You can't only show a part of that logo, sorry Topps. mfc cards will go full frontal using the Mets realogo.

White looks good, but if I was thinking in terms of other teams, or a set, I would take a look at how the cards look in something closer to each teams colors.

I'm sad to see DaMurph and Hawkman go but I like that the Mets are filling the holes. There is still a big hole needing to be filled. An impact bat like the one Cespedes brought. Cespedes himself is also acceptable (if he'll take four years-fogettabout seven).

Mr. Wilpon: You can't put the cart before the horse. Put a good product on the field and the fans will come and you'll make money. Don't think that an outside chance like we had in 2015 will happen again or is good enough for 2016. Don't wait. Immediately build around the pitching we are so fortunate to have at such an affordable price and for what might be a limited time. To do anything less would be irresponsible. The time is now.

  1. I like your version of the 2016 card better than Topps. I was not a fan from the first time I saw it, at least not for the base set.
