74mfc Mets Manager & Coaches

I wasn't planning on releasing this card separately. It was made for the 73 World Series game 6 page. Decent photos from game 6 are a bit hard to find, and I apologize for being so slow in completing the 1973 World Series posts.

That page won't be ready for some time and I have an on-line friend out there who could use some cheering up right now.

So, for Louis, who took time to research my LONGINES/ELGIN question, I present Yogi Berra's 74mfc Mets Manager & coaches card.

Louis, you'll find your name up on the greatest scoreboard known to man and the universe. I hope this brings a smile and things go well as you manage to get through these tough times.

Also, I should post my wallet card so defgav of Baseball Card Breakdown knows I'm on board. This was taken over a month ago when I first slipped it into my wallet. I hated the Donruss 1990 baseball card design so getting one all squished in my wallet is very appealing.


I'll post an updated copy at some point. Right now it don't look too worse for the wear.

1966 Met Fantazy Card Opening Day Line-up

Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Bob Murphy bringing you Mets baseball. Today is opening day of the 1966 baseball season and the Mets will be facing Hank Aaron and the Atlanta Braves here at Shea Stadium. Now for the starting line-up for the 1966 New York Mets.




Leading off for the Mets to start the season will be-

Batting second and playing second base is-

Playing third and batting third for the Mets is all-star-

Batting clean-up is the first baseman-

followed by the left fielder-

Batting sixth and playing rightfield, Rocky-

Doing the catching for the Mets and batting seventh-

Batting eighth, the shortstop-

And batting ninth, starting his first opening day for the Mets, the pitcher-

1965 Met Fantazy Card Opening Day Line-up

An April 12th, 1965 the Mets opened the season at Shea for the first time. It didn't effect their luck however, as they were victims of Don Drysdale who pitched a complete game. The Mets did plate a run but lost to the Dodgers by a score of 6-1.

"Well hi everybody I'm Ralph Kiner along with Bob Murphy and Lindsey Nelson bringing you Mets baseball. Today is opening day of the 1965 season, and a beautiful day it is. New York will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers here at Shea stadium. Casey Stengel's opening day line-up for the New York Mets:



Leading off for the Mets and playing Center Field-

Playing shortstop and hitting second-

Batting third the right fielder-

In the clean-up spot and playing 1st base is New York hometown favorite-

The left fielder-

will be batting 5th followed by third baseman-

The second baseman-

Will bat 7th. Batting 8th today is the catcher-

and on the mound for the Mets pitching his second opening day start-"
