The Mets (74-66) are hot and have won 5 in a row!

A month ago we were ready to dig their graves. Now we want to hoist them up onto our shoulders and run  with them down the stretch.

The Mets finished off a three-game sweep against the Rockies and have won eight of 10.
They pulled within a percentage point of St. Louis (73-65) for the second NL wild card, both a half-game behind San Francisco (74-65).

Mets are moving up, one step at a time.

In the Rockies series Jose Reyes hit another lead-off home run, his 19th with the Mets, snapping a tie with Granderson for the franchise record. Jose has smacked a lead off kaBOOM 3 times since returning to New York. Reyes career total for opening a game with a bomb is 24.

Wilmer Flores's homer in the final game  was the first of his 

career as a pinch hitter and gave the Mets 12 pinch hit long balls this season, tying the franchise record set in 1983.

What can I say about Cespedes? When he gets in a groove he is phenomenal. What we need is for him to stay in this groove until the end of October.
